Sometimes It Is Both

AuDHD is a dual neurotype of Autism Spectrum Disorder and Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder.  Best described as persistent state of internal contradiction, a push/pull between opposing forces.  There can be an intense drive of seeking predictability and routine, while also experiencing difficulty focusing and constantly craving novelty.  This condition can also manifest as rigid adherence to a schedule you cannot always follow.  Individuals often feel overwhelmed by sensory information while also craving stimulation. 

Evaluations involve a combination of assessments and a detailed clinical interview.  Results can help provide clarity if both conditions coexist, which will focus therapeutic interventions and specialize treatment goals.
